Welcome to the Designing Health Lab!
Our lab focuses on how to utilize new and emerging technologies (e.g., smartphones, wireless sensors, cloud computing, big data, etc) to promote better living through healthy behavior change with a particular focus on physical activity and healthful eating. We have projects that span the range of influence on health behaviors from individual-level just in time and adaptive smartphone apps, to online support groups, and more broadly to informing public policy decisions to foster more healthful neighborhoods and cities. We are actively growing and interested in finding new students to work in the lab with us and for strategic partners with other academics along with community and industry partners who are interested in using evidence-based processes for fostering healthier individuals and communities.
